The Whole Cheese

Not sure if it's only my family that uses the phrase but just in case......"The Whole Cheese" refers to getting to be the only child for a little while. Maury went to Brandon to stay with Migi and Papa C for a few days so she gets to be the whole cheese there and Carter gets to be my whole cheese! He was thrilled to have some time on his play mat without worrying he could be attacked. We even tried out the Bumbo seat but realized although he's a big boy, he's not quite ready for it!

Up, Up, and Away!

We went to Mimi and Gandy's for Memorial Day and got to see a hot air balloon race at Point Mallard! Maury was a little hard to keep up with, she wanted to run around and dance to the band. Carter and Maury both had a good time playing with cousins Charlotte and John David!

First Dip

Owen bought Maury this pool, I think for Mother's Day, he thought she needed a gift too. She took her first dip on Saturday!

Bis Sis + Lil Brother = ♥

I bought these shirts for Leigh Ann when she found out her second was a boy......little did I know I'd get them back less than a year later!

Blankies and Forks

Maury has a kitchen in her room and loves cutlery. She carries forks around the house most of the day. I put her on the couch beside Carter this morning not knowing she was armed and this is what she did! I know, I should have grabbed it instead of snapping a picture!

Maury loves a blankie. She's built up quite a collection over the past 15 months. Usually she just sleeps with one or two but for some reason they've all been in the bed the last few nights, I think she prefers it that way! We have all colors and sizes!

New Purse!

Mimi came to help me yesterday and brought Maury this beautiful purse! Thank you Mimi! Also thanks to Mary Bradford for picking it out! It's so funny that Maury knows exactly what to do with it! Also these lovely Kimono pj's came back in Maury's bag last time she went to Mimi's house, I'm thinking I've seen them on a cousin before!

Maury's First Haircut

Since Owen is now sick and home from work I took advantage of the situation, left Carter with him, and took Maury to get a much needed trim! She was still a bit under the weather but I think it did her some good to get out. Bye-bye mullet!
She also had her 15 month check-up today. She weighs 23 pounds and is 32 inches tall!

I feel the need to post a picture of Carter so he's not left out!

I don't know why I try??? I should just stick to pictures of them separate! Thought this was pretty funny though!

Quarantined

Just when I think we are getting into a routine and I'm managing pretty well the stomach virus strikes! Just me so far thank goodness! That was Sunday night and then poor Maury woke up with a fever (unrelated to my virus) Monday morning! I tried to perk her up with a little time it the swing, you can see how that turned out. So we haven't left the house in days (not that we get out much anyway). I'm much better and Maury is a little better today. Owen stayed home to help out yesterday, I couldn't have made it without him. I think Carter must have known we were sick because he had his best day yet! I'm praying he doesn't get any of out germs!
Oops! Don't know how to rotate the picture!

Sunday School for Maury

Today Maury and I decided to head to Sunday School and leave Daddy and Carter at home. They managed fine without us and it was nice to get back to normal for an hour. Carter didn't seem to miss us at all!

Carter's Favorite Spot

Since he's a little high maintenance, it's been hard to find Carter's happy place. I've recently discovered he really likes his mobile (thank you cousin John David for the loaner). If only it was remote controlled rather than wind up!

Do Dah Day!

So Owen has been wanting to go to Do Da Day (a festival for pets) and take our dog Molly for years and it has never worked out until this year (not that taking a dog and two babies is ideal). We loaded up and headed to Highland Park to hang out with pet lovers, listen to bands, shop for dog stuff, and whatever else pet people do. I think Owen, Molly and Maury really enjoyed it, Carter and I enjoyed spending time with our family. I was expecting a couple hundred of pet people and their pets but there were THOUSANDS! Some with several pets. Maury's favorite part was feeding her lunch to Molly!

Double Jogger

Maury and Carter (with the help of their Daddy) got me a double jogger for Mother's Day! We are really enjoying it. I may have to stop every 10 steps to put big sister's hands back in her lap but over all it's really great! I can connect my ipod to a speaker for them to hear too, Maury dances to the Wiggles as we stroll!

Carter Can Smile!!!

Since arriving 6 weeks ago little Carter has not been the most agreeable baby.........until now! He started medication for reflux Monday and now he's a new man! Poor thing, if only I had listened to his Daddy weeks ago when he suggested that Carter may have reflux!
