Baby Einstein

One plus to having children so close in age is that they are into the same DVDs. Both Maury and Carter love watching Baby Einstein! That's what they are doing right now as I check email and blog!

A Visit With Jack

Our friends the Anderson's live in Charlotte, NC and pass through occasionally on their way to MS. Lindsey and Jack stopped by on Tuesday and Maury and Jack had fun playing with Play Dough.

Carter's First Dip

The Jackson's had a little Ross Bridge getaway this weekend and we met them at the pool for a little while Friday afternoon. I decided it was time for Carter to try on his swim trunks. I'm not going to say he loved the pool but he tolerated it for about 5 minutes. So glad I spent 15 minutes dressing him and lathering him in sunscreen.

The Wiggles

We met the Wise's in Decatur Thursday and traveled to Huntsville to see the Wiggles! Maury and John David had a little trouble sitting still and Charlotte never took her wide eyes off of the stage! Maury did do her fair share of clapping, waving, and of course wiggling! She was very entertained, possibly more by the kids sitting around us!

Getting the hang of it.....

It seems like everyday or so I think of a way to make things a little easier around here. Not that it always works, but this afternoon I tried something new while cooking dinner that proved to be a success.

Carter's Dedication

We had sweet Carter's dedication at church today. It was a very special day and everything went well aside from Maury slapping Owen while we were trying to listen to Dr. Foust's words of wisdom. It has just been a little over year since we dedicated Maury, at the time I didn't realize how easy the preparation with one baby was! A big thank you goes out to all of Carter's grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins that joined us for his big day!

Sprinkler Fun!

We bought this sprinkler a while back and just got it out for the first time today. Maury had a big time! She spent most of her time trying to spray Owen! The sprinkler proved to be great entertainment for about 20 minutes!

Oops!

Maury needed a haircut with Carter's Dedication and pictures coming up next week. I tried to save myself a big headache and a little cash and decided to cut it myself. Not a good idea. She really did well, evidently I just can not cut straight. So it's too short and a little uneven. It's my fault, I admit it (Owen will print that out and put it on the fridge)!

GOOD Morning!

I had two goals to accomplish while Maury is away. 1. Clean the house. 2. Get Carter to sleep through the night (I've been afraid to let him cry, didn't want to wake Maury)! Carter is NOTHING like his sister (we still love him just the same). She slept through the night at 8 weeks, still takes two 2 hour naps a day and sleeps 11 hours at night (I realize this is not normal). I knew Carter had it in him, I just had to push him a little. Now, he still does his fair share of fussing in the night but I now know it's not because he is hungry. I haven't had to get up at all the past two nights! Sweet Boy! Hopefully this will continue. Hurry home Maury we miss you!

Carter's First Day of School

Carter looking confused as I drop him off.

Happy when we got home, before he crashed!

I went back to work today and Carter headed to Near and Dear (Maury is spending the weekend with her cousins, see the Wises blog for details). I am so lucky to have such a wonderful day care right at the hospital where I work. It was much easier going back this time compared to when I had to leave Maury, probably because I'm part time now. I think he had a good day. His sweet teachers said he was a good boy. I do know he was worn out. He went to sleep at 5:30 this afternoon and is still asleep now (it's 9:05)! I've got to go wake him to put his pjs on and feed him!

Bath Time

Carter waiting for his turn in the tub

Bath time is an adventure at our house. Usually Owen takes care of Maury and then I follow with Carter. When Owen is away at bath time I struggle! I will be glad when we can bathe them at the same time!

Preschool Play Party

Wednesday night we had a preschool fun night at church complete with hot wheels/ride-ons, bubbles, Popsicles, and jumpolenes. Maury had a blast. She mostly wanted to blow bubbles and chase Henry on his tricycle. Carter took a good nap and then watched the fun from his stroller!

Oak Mountain

Owen was off today so we took a family outing to Oak Mountain State Park. We checked out the petting zoo (it was actually a barn with animals running around, not caged, I was scared) and stuck our toes in the lake. Once again Carter slept through the outing!

Happy 4th!

And Happy 3 Months to Carter! Owen had to work the holiday weekend so we headed to Mimi and Gandy's so we could go swimming and because I hated for us to sit around the house decked out in red, white, and blue! Carter slept through both visits to the pool (he hasn't had his trunks on yet). Maury had lots of fun but was wishing for her cousins to swim with! She had her first experience with corn on the cob and loved it, not sure why she ate her cake like a dog. Didn't really get a good picture of Carter because he mostly slept (he only does this when we are away from home).

Cute Pics

Maury has moved to a booster chair this week so Carter can have the highchair soon!

Kisses from big sis!

We are having a good week, nothing too exciting going on. Had a few lunch dates, strolled every morning in the nice weather, went to Near and Dear for Carter to meet his teachers (I go back to work next Friday), and Lindsey and Jack stopped to visit today on their way back to Charlotte. Maury is really starting to love playing with Carter, she gives him lots of kisses and likes to shake his toys in front of him and say "Heeeee BeBe" (Hey Baby)! He likes to watch her and doesn't mind her pokes and pats too bad!
