Cool Dude and Sassy Diva

We tried a new salon for haircuts today because Carter's last cut was a bit of a disaster. You'd think "Sweet and Sassy" was only for girls but they had a special cape just for Carter. Maury even got beautiful sparkles in her hair and a star on her cheek. Thankfully we got two good haircuts, two tasty suckers, and left without any toddler melt-downs!

Great First Day

Maury and Carter were all smiles when I picked them up after their first full day of MDO. They were proud of their new kicks and lunch boxes too! I got the whole house cleaned so it was a great first day all around!

MDO Orientation

Today we went to orientation/meet the teacher at Maury and Carter's school. They were excited and walked right in without looking back! Carter tried to be a little clingy at the door but quickly forgot about Mama. Maury was thrilled that two of her best friends, Lily and Olivia, will be in her class. Wednesday will be their first full day and WE are ready!

One Last Hurrah

We gathered in Decatur this week for one last summer play day with the cousins. We spent the night at Mimi's and went to the splash pad (where we had to swap swimsuits a few times to keep everyone happy), the park, the pool, and did lots of running in Gandy's back yard (golf course) and took a few rides in Gandy's cart. Mimi and Gandy are probably still trying to put everything back into place!

Packing It In

I've been a little sad that summer is almost over and I tried to pack as much into this week as possible. We went to the pool Monday, Tuesday (and the library), and Wednesday, to the zoo on Thursday and to Chuck E Cheese today. Not sure why I'm down about school starting back since mine aren't in school but I just hate to see pool days ending.

Luckily the zoo is open year around and it seems each time we go we get to do something new. This visit we got to watch the sea lion show and we got to feed the giraffes (really I fed the giraffes). Maury was a trooper at the sea lion show... in the middle of the show I left her on the bleachers (bottom one)to quickly grab the diaper bag for a snack for squirmy Carter and was reprimanded by a pushy zoo keeper and not allowed back to my seat!!! I even told him my 2 year old was sitting alone (really only a set of bleachers away) and he would not allow me to go back (it was only a few minutes but STILL)! I discovered after the show when I got to her that she was soaked (I didn't realize our seats were in the splash zone)!

Carter's First Shiner

Carter fell into his kiddie table/chair set last night where his right eye met up with the corner of a chair resulting in his first black eye. It's not a bad one thank goodness but I know it's the first of many! Excuse the breakfast face in the picture.

Catching Up

I've not had much time to blog lately so I tried to make up some ground tonight. The 3 latest posts are from the last week or two so scroll down to get caught up!

New Shoes!!!

I bought Carter his first pair of church walking shoes before we moved and they disappeared during the move (never worn). Late Friday night as we were putting the last of our yard sale items out I found them in his old dresser!!! Yay! He wore them for the first time this morning. I was working so Daddy was in charge of dressing them (in the clothes I laid out)and getting them to church and he was sweet enough to take some pics for me!

Jump Zone

We met friends at Jump Zone last week for a morning of exhausting fun! I'm not sure if the mommies or the kids were more worn out when we left. Maury lost her shirt and bow several times. Carter decided he was a big kid and thought there were no limits as to what he could do. I even climbed the highest slide with both kids and we all flew down together with record speed (I did not do it twice). We will definitely go again and hopefully take Daddy next time!

The Bus Box

The kids had lots of fun in the fridge box. I found I could put them in with a handful of washable markers and get a little laundry done! Unfortunately the box was quite large and took up too much space so it has gone bye-bye but it was fun, free entertainment while it lasted. Maury especially liked taking her babies for a ride on the bus!
