Wonderful Weather

We've been enjoying the fabulous fall weather this week! So far we've worked in a couple of park trips and lots of wagon and trike rides around the house. Carter has never been a fan of the swing but was thrilled that Veterans Park had a swing low to the ground so he could be totally in control. He grinned from ear to ear while hopping on and off over and over!

Dawg Tired

This picture sums up how we (and probably the team) felt after the MSU/LSU game. We were proud of the Bulldogs for playing so hard but disappointed we didn't pull out a win. I didn't take the camera in the game because of the monsoon but Maury and Carter had a blast once again! They danced, cheered, rang their cowbells until they passed out in the second half. Plus, Game day came after the kids spend a couple of fun-filled days with Migi and Papa C! Hopefully next week all of the Dawgs hard work will pay off!!!

Bath Wars

I remember about a year ago when I was so excited to be able to bathe two at a time. Now it seems that may soon come to an end. My precious angels have started attacking each other in the bath tub (and outside the tub too). We splash, hit, throw toys, push, pull hair, etc. By the end of bath time Mommy is exhausted and soaked. Maybe they make a tub divider I could use??? I realize there is not much I can do outside of the tub other than referee. Maury's eye injury happened on Daddy's watch, puzzle piece to the eye (but I admit plenty have occurred with me supervising). Carter can now more than hold his own now and Maury is getting paid back for all of her bites, scratches, and pushes dished out in the past 18 months!

Picture Day

Today was picture day at school! Although they were all smiles before we left the house when I asked each of them if they were going to say "CHEESE" for their picture at school they both replied "No". So I guess we'll see how they turn out. I'm not getting my hopes up but I'm sure the "Strolling in the Park" background will be lovely!

One Last Trip

Owen and I talked all summer about a late summer/early fall beach trip but didn't make official plans until days before we left. We had a great time! Maury and Carter loved it all. I think Maury would have worked on sandcastles all day if we had let her. Carter wasn't walking when we went in May so he was a much happier beach bum this go-around! I'm sad to be unpacking and storing swimsuits today, summer went by way too fast!

GO STATE!!!

We headed to Starkville on Saturday to watch the first State game of the season. The kids did great! It was a perfect day with the exception of the rain and Carter losing a maroon croc on our way into the stadium (meaning no shoes for the rest of the day). Maury had a blast cheering, ringing her cowbell, and dancing to the band. Even Carter was saying "Go State!" We are already getting excited about the next game!

Happy Birthday Mimi and EE!

We celebrated Mimi and EE's (Aunt Leigh Ann) birthdays a week or so ago in Decatur. I've been lazy with my blogging lately. We went to Mimi's church and had a big birthday lunch with yummy pink cupcakes! Happy Happy Birthday to two very special people!!!

Cupcakes for Daddy?

I ran in the grocery store for a few things with both kids and Maury said she wanted to make cupcakes with sprinkles for her daddy. So we did and when it was time to decorate Daddy's cupcake she carefully added icing to the cupcake and then to her tongue and so on. She topped it off with sprinkles and said "Daddy will be so happy!" She really saved the cake part for him (she ate most of the icing). I can't say the same for Carter, he didn't leave a crumb.

On the Move

Carter's only pictures of him still are taken when he is in his carseat, stroller, or booster. If his feet are on the ground he is running. Maury, however, has finally gotten to the stage where she likes having her picture made. Here's the better ones (meaning the ones I snapped before he got away) from before church last week:

Park Fun

We met some friends at the park last week for a little playtime and a picnic. Once again I was not able to capture much of the fun due to two toddlers running and climbing in two different directions/places.
