We have so much to be thankful for, not just this week but everyday! We are so blessed! The past few days were very busy and lots of fun. From Decatur we went to Brandon for a few days, then to Starkville for the Egg Bowl (especially thankful for that Bulldog win), and finally back to Birmingham just in time to pick out our Christmas tree! There is one thing I am not thankful for however.....the stomach virus, or as I like to call it the Thanksgiving virus, it always shows up this time of year. It seems we may have spread it around the Southeast.

Dress-Up at Mimi's
We went to Decatur for a quick visit since we'll be in Mississippi for Thanksgiving. The kids love Mimi's playroom and can always find something to get into. At some point during most visits there is a fashion show. Even John David participated in this one, he said he was a Pirate (thank goodness Carter was already in bed)!
A Parade and a Party
Last weekend the kids got to watch their very first Christmas Parade (not sure I'd call it that) at the Summit's Tree Lighting. They had no clue that it was a dud since it was their first and sat wide eyed and watched a couple of firetrucks, a bag pipe group and one marching band go by. Last but not least was Santa on a fire truck and they gave him a big wave!
Another fun part of our weekend was Henry's 3rd birthday party at McWane! We all had lots of fun blowing bubbles, digging for fossils, trying out the touchable tornado, and of course Carter's favorite, eating yummy cake. Happy Birthday to Henry! We are so glad we got to help celebrate!

Cousins and Football
This past football weekend was extra special because all of Maury and Carter's cousins were in attendance! Uncle Brad is a Bama fan so the Jackson's got to come see the Dawgs play (all but Brad cheering for State). We tailgated, went to the game, and then had a spend the night party in Starkville! On Sunday we worked in a photo session attempting to get a Christmas card pic for Mimi!

Under The Weather
After battling the stomach bug throughout Sunday night into Monday morning Maury woke up feeling much better. However, while getting Carter ready for mdo I noticed he was covered in a rash! So both kids skipped school and got to hang out at home with Mommy. Today the kids are feeling better but thanks to tropical storm Ida we've had more quality time indoors. Painting helped to pass a little time this morning!
Moss Rock Festival
After Sunday naps we headed to the Preserve for the Moss Rock Festival. There was lots of art to see but the highlight for Carter was the fire truck! He even went up to a fireman and said "wana ride." Maury was not a fan of the festival. A few minutes after we got there she went limp and wanted to be carried. When we returned home she had a fever that quickly turned into the stomach bug, no fun!

A Happy Halloween
After long naps Maury and Carter transformed back into a duck and a turtle and for a night full of Halloween fun with friends. The evening included pumpkin painting, caramel apple decorating, rice crispy treat pumpkins, a hay ride and trick-or-treating!!! Maury knew exactly what to do going door to door and Carter followed right behind her (and sometimes into homes)! I was really surprised at how well they did and how much they enjoyed it all. Maury is already talking about what she will be for Halloween when she is 3 (which changes daily)!
Happy Birthday Pierce!
