Souvenirs

Mimi and Gandy flew back into Birmingham yesterday after a trip out West! They stopped buy with a bag of exciting souvenirs for Maury and Carter. Who knew that Dora was in Las Vegas? And Park Ranger Carter's rattle snake shirt glows in the dark! Fabulous! Thanks Mimi and Gandy!

Getting There......

I want to thank Pierce for loaning Carter his toy to assist him in learning to walk, he needs all the help he can get! We have been told that because he is a big boy he will be a late walker but I'm thinking it may not be as long as we thought. He is making progress! I am definitely looking forward to the day that I no longer have to carry 30 pounds around everywhere I go (but also a little sad that my baby will be walking)!

Sunny Days!

We are loving the weather and have been to the park almost every day this week! Maury loves to swing and slide, Carter is still not a big fan of the swing but will go head first down the slide all by himself! Carter also loves to play in the dirt and bark and put it all in his mouth. He is all boy!!!

Tee-Ball and April Birthdays

We spent the weekend in Decatur trying to fit as much into 2 days as possible! It started out with Mary B's tee-ball games Friday night and Saturday morning. We were so excited to watch her play! She is really good!

Saturday afternoon we headed to Build-A-Bear for Gray's 4th birthday(well, Carter stayed behind for a nap)! Maury was more into doing her own make-up!

Sunday we celebrated Carter's 1st birthday, John David's 2nd, Gray and Charlotte's 4th, and Amy's 34th! As you can see, this was Carter's third cake experience and he knew just what to do! Needless to say, we ate lots of cake and cookies over the weekend!

Painted By U.......

Or as Carter sees it, TORTURE! I thought painting pottery was a good idea for an outing but it turned out to be a little more than I could manage. I should have known when I hauled the kids up stairs to find they had relocated that the day would go South from there. When we finally made it to the new Painted By U location I realized I didn't have a stroller and had to go by a booster next door at Toys R Us so I could strap one child in and keep the other from breaking all of the ceramics. Ginger tried to help but she had her hands full with Pierce, who was quite the artist I must say. Maury did pretty well with the painting but Carter acted similar to how he acts while getting shots! I was sweating by the time we were finished but decided to make a few more stops before going home for naps. Big mistake! We made a huge scene at the toy store and I left my wallet at the shoe store. What a day! But I just know the pottery will be lovely!

Funny Maury

I took this yesterday. Trike helmet and Daddy's boots, fabulous!

Easter Sunday

I'm a little late on this post because I got a new camera in my Easter basket for Easter/Mother's Day/my birthday/Owen's birthday/Father's Day and I had trouble uploading. I love the new camera and it's amazing how much better the pictures are! We had a very special Easter! The kids had fun going through their baskets, our church service was wonderful and I even made our Easter lunch for the first time (I had to work most of the day so I had no choice)! Carter and Maury weren't very cooperative for photos but we have professional pictures this week and they'll be wearing their Easter attire so I didn't stress!

Egg Dying

Last post of the day, I promise. I was planning on skipping the egg dying this year thinking it wouldn't matter, they don't know the difference, but Owen decided to take on the project while I worked today! Maury loved it, Carter pretty much just observed while he ate a snack. Anyway, they were both entertained for a while and the eggs are beautiful! HA!

More Birthdays!!!

This week we got to go to Tupelo to celebrate Charlotte's 4th birthday and down the street to Lily's house for her 2nd birthday! April is a very busy month with lots of important birthdays, our anniversary, and of course Easter! We are managing to work it all in and having lots of fun!

Great-Grans

We spent a few days in North AL this week visiting family. I appreciate Mimi letting us spend the night while Owen was away at The Masters (I'm not one for staying home alone). We went to Moulton to have lunch with Nana and dropped in on Gene Gene for a quick visit which didn't give Maury and Carter time to warm up to her enough to pose for a picture!

1 Year Check-Up

Everything checked out great with Carter at his check-up! He is 29 lbs, 5 oz and 31 3/4 inches. I am happy to report that although he has passed his sister in weight, he is back on the growth chart in the 99th percentile (last check-up he was off the chart)! He got 3 shots and handled it pretty well. I forgot to take his picture while we were there (too busy trying to keep him entertained), but snapped one as we were getting in the car.

We LOVE the Easter Bunny!

You can see on Maury and Carter's faces that they were thrilled to get to see the Easter Bunny today! We met Pierce, Olivia, and Lily at the mall to visit with the EB and have lunch. Pierce is the only one who sat in EB's lap and smiled! Carter did fine in his lap but no smiles....the girls, however, wanted no part of it (except for the suckers)! We also managed to get Carter's hair cut on our outing so it is no longer obstructing his vision!

Happy Birthday Carter!

Maury and Carter Pre-Race:

Post-Race: I thought we were going to have to take Daddy to the ER

We are celebrating Carter's 1st birthday today! Boy has the past year flown by! We had a few friends over for lunch, cake and an egg hunt yesterday. Today we ran as a family in the High Country 5K! The kids enjoyed their ride in the stroller, I did not enjoy the run as much as I have previous runs (I'm out of shape), and Daddy did not enjoy one minute of it! Carter has had a big afternoon playing in his new Sand/Water/Transportation table and is very excited about turning one! He is such a blessing, we can't wait to see what his second year will bring!
