Mornings with Daddy

On the days that I work Owen goes in a little late so he can take the kids to school.  Maury and Carter love their special mornings with Daddy.  They usually talk him into taking them to the doughnut store!

Happy Birthday Gene Gene!!!

We made a quick trip to Decatur Tuesday to celebrate Gene Gene's 88th birthday!!!  She didn't know we were coming so it was a special birthday surprise.  Maury and Carter were thrilled to see Gray and Mary B for a little while too!

Finally Fall???

I'm sure it will get hot again but the cool weather sure is nice today!

GO MSU DAWGS!!!

Watching the team walk through with Clark and Addy

Saturday we headed back to Starkville to watch our Dawgs battle the Georgia Bulldogs!  It was another fun afternoon of tailgating, playing with cousins, and of course a great game to watch!

Spiderman + Buzz and Woody

We managed to make two birthday parties Saturday morning (that started at the same time on different sides of town)!  Maury and Carter didn't want to miss celebrating with Davis or Daniel.  That's a lot of fun and a lot of sugar!

Park Playdate

Today went met friends at the park for the first SCBC Preschool Playdate!  We were hoping for a nice fall day and it was nice but it was REALLY warm.  There were lots of little ones with red faces and I'm sure they are all taking great naps about now, mine are!

A Cone for Carter

Poor Carter, I think I've always gotten him ice cream in a cup and helped him eat it to avoid a huge mess up until now.  Owen bought cones at the grocery store this week and I gave both kids ice cream in a cone after dinner last night.  Once Carter got down to the cone part and took a bite he said "Look Mom (he calls me "Mom" now), I'm eating the crust!"

Crest Fest

We went to Crest Fest at church Sunday night where we listened to music and loaded up on hamburgers, hot dogs, snow cones, and cotton candy!  We came home with some super sticky hands!

Pizza Cookers!

Maury and Carter helped me make pizza the other night!  They loved being "cookers" and only sneezed into the pizza a time or two!

Game Day

Today is game day and I am taking one for the team (and Owen).  I've decided to stay home with the kids and let Daddy enjoy the game without preschoolers in his lap.  With afternoon naps, early bedtimes, and school tomorrow it's probably in Maury and Carter's best interest to sit this one out.  We are dressed in Maroon and cheering the Bulldogs on from home!!!!  I've changed my mind a millions times this week and I still have about an hour before my ride to Starkville leaves.........

Labor Day Fun

Since Labor Day was the last day for the pool to be open we tried our best to go for a swim.  Princess Maury couldn't handle the cold water and wrapped herself up and parked it on the bench.  Carter and I didn't think it was all that bad!  That afternoon we played outside and had a picnic on the back porch (and yes, that is dirt on their faces)!

Here Come the Bulldogs!!!!

Char was under the weather so Maury kept her company.
Carter and John David ran and tackled most of the afternoon.
MSU's first game did not disappoint!  The Dawgs pulled out a 49-7 win over Memphis!  I'm pretty sure it has been a while since we have scored 49 points and it was so much fun to watch!  On top of a great game the kids did really well and cheered their hearts out (and ate lots of junk)!  We are hopeful for a winning season!  GO STATE!!!!
