4 Year-Old Check-Up!

38 lbs
42 in

Maury had her 4 year check up yesterday.  She was worried all morning about the possibility of getting a shot.  I didn't have the heart to tell her that she would probably get one so she asked her friend Sarah Elizabeth at school (who had her check-up the day before) and when I picked her up from school she was in tears saying "Sarah had 3 shots!"  Never the less, she survived the single shot (with a little kicking and screaming beforehand) and afterward said "It didn't hurt Mommy, it kinda felt good!"  She was very proud and showed everyone at church last night her bandaid!

McWane Playdate???

Monday we went to The McWane Center to meet friends for the monthly SCBC playdate but no one else showed!  Maury and Carter didn't know the difference and were thrilled to spend the morning at McWane!

A Special Visit

Migi and Papa C came to visit last weekend and they got to enjoy this wonderful weather we've been having at Moss Rock Preserve!  This trip a waterfall/stream was discovered and Carter slipped and to a dip in the cool water!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Sunday after church
Yes, he slept in his Spiderman costume

Maury getting her Valentines ready for school

Seems like the fun never ends around here and I'm struggling to keep up my blogging!  Actually, we've just had a full February so far!  Once we returned from Disney and started catching up on our rest it was time to celebrate Valentine's Day!  Maury and Carter were loaded down with candy and Valentines from their school parties and had surprises from grandparents in the mailbox too!  These two LOVE candy!  Maury prefers the sugary kind while Carter goes for chocolate first!

Disney Day 6, Maury's 4th Birthday!!!

We had to wake Maury up by singing "Happy Birthday" on our final day but she hopped out of bed quickly and headed to unwrap her presents!  She was thrilled with her Belle doll, jewelry box, and jewelry but we had to rush to get  dressed and pack the car so we could check out and head to breakfast at Chef Mickey's!!!  I know Maury felt super special with her cupcake and special birthday song from Mickey, she even warmed up to the characters a little!  Happy 4th Birthday Princess Maury!  We love you so much!!!

From there we headed to the Animal Kingdom for a few hours before loading up and heading back to Birmingham!  Maury and Carter both complained saying they didn't want to go home, they wanted to stay at Disney World (I did too)!!!  We had a wonderful week and made so many great memories!

Disney Day 5

Day 5 we spent at the resort because Owen had another class and I could not venture out on my own.  There was plenty to keep us busy at the resort though, lots of really warm pools, playgrounds, and a pizza place!  I only got a couple of pictures while we were swimming and I'm am including some others from the room like the bathtub that was a favorite activity from the week!

Disney Day 4

I love Carter's expression in this one :)

Pouting Princess

Carter always follows Maury's lead!

One of my favorites, HA!

After Maury had re-applied make-up herself!

On a very rainy day 4 we headed back to Magic Kingdom with Daddy to see what me missed on day 2, ride our favorites again, and for Maury's make-over at the Bippity Boppity Boutique (see previous post)!  We ran into Daisy Duck as we entered the park and stopped for a pic and an autograph because she was one of the only characters we hadn't seen.  Then Maury and Carter picked two of their favorites, It's a Small World and Prince Charming's Carousel, before M's appointment.  After the transformation we headed to Adventure Land for Aladdin's Magic Carpet Ride, the Jungle Cruise, and Swiss Family's Tree House.  Maury (Belle) posed and waved for/to us and almost everyone we passed along the way.  After a few melt-downs,  a couple of naps, and another meltdown (an impressive one by the princess that we did get on video) we went back to the other side of the park for tea cups, race cars, and Snow White!  Another ride on small world and the carousel and then it was time to get a good spot for the electric parade and fireworks show!!!  It was a full but truly magical day!!!

Bippity Boppity Boutique

Checking out the spa menu!

The dressing room
Time to get started!

Selecting the perfect hair style!

The big reveal!  She was beside herself!

Maury's appointment with her Fairy Godmother at the Bippity Boppity Boutique took place on day 4 at Magic Kingdom but it deserves a post of its own because I'm pretty sure it was Maury's highlight of the week and definitely one of mine!  I have never seen her so excited (and those of you who know her well know that seeing excitement on her face is a huge deal)!!! Since Belle is her favorite Princess and she already had a Belle dress we took it along and she changed in the dressing room shortly after we arrived.  Then the fun began!  She picked her hair style and color (like Belle of course), her make-up colors, and the beautiful gems on her face.  She was all smiles from start to finish and I truly believe she thought she was a real princess when we left!  She waved at strangers and posed for cameras (ours and Disney's) throughout the day and got into her make-up bag and reapplied in the afternoon!  Seeing Daddy and Carter's faces when they saw Princess Maury for the first time was priceless, I wish I had taken a picture!
