Last weekend Owen and the big kids ran in the Retro Run!  We cheered Daddy on first and then the kids headed to the starting line.  Maury, our diva, was complaining about her legs hurting before it started so we knew she wouldn't finish first.  Carter took off like lightening at the start and I had a hard time catching up to him while Maury followed behind whining with every step.  When Carter saw the finish he passed all of the kids he could and got him medal.  Maury picked up her pace just a tad when she saw the medals at the finish line!!!

Kitty Cat Fair

When learning that were were going to the Kiddie Fair while visiting Mimi, Carter was a little confused.  He thought we were saying kitty and that there would be lots of cats there!  There were not cats, thankfully, but he was not disappointed.  Carter, Maury, and Mary B had tons of fun!!!  We were thankful for Gandy babysitting Caroline although we did see babies her age riding lots of rides!  Pardon the iphone photos.

Swimming Lessons

My little fish loved every minute of swimming lessons at Shades Cliff!!!  They sharpened their skills and even learned (or were shown how) to dive!

Hot Day at the Zoo!!!

With swimming lessons this week in the evening we decided to change up out mid-day outing and head to the zoo!!!  It was pretty warm but we did out best to stay cool in the shade, on the train, and at the splash pad!

Little Fish

We have done a whole lot of swimming this summer and Maury and Carter are doing great!  For the first time last weekend I was able to leave Caroline at home with Daddy and take my camera!!!

We also got ice cream with the Bakers that day!!!

Special Sleepover

It's always a treat when the Days pass through town and spend the night!  Mahlon and Sara Beth usually sleep in the basement with their parents but this trip Sara Beth slept in Maury's room and Mahlon in Carter's!!!  They are growing up fast!

Happy 4th!!!

With our AC out all week we were thrilled that we were invited to friends houses for the 4th!!!  We went to the Isamingers for lunch and water slide fun and then after a little rest we headed to the Breezes for more food, fun, outfit changes, and fireworks!!!

Our family beach trip was a little different this year with the daddies working and Mimi and Gandy cutting their stay short.  Amy, Leigh Ann, and I had a relaxing week at the beach with 8 kids!!!  There was never a dull moment or a bit of down time (except for the lucky volunteer who stayed in during the babies' nap time) .  We packed each and every day full of summer fun!  The kids LOVE cousin time so a week at the beach with cousins 24/7 was a dream!!!
