Ooops, Back Up One Day.....

How could I leave out a post about the fish????  When I went to K parent meeting I took the "beta fish" off of Mrs. Fritschi's wish list because I knew Carter would be thrilled to go get the class fish.  I should have waited until the day before to tell him because he asked non-stop all weekend when we could get it.  All three kids were pretty excited, Caroline said "oh, I love him" when she woke up from her nap and Carter showed her.  I feel sure we will be getting one soon!  Somehow, Carter made it to school with the fish (later named Freddie) and he was so proud :)

First Day, NO WAY!!!

How in the world do I have two in big school???  My little baby boy is now a Kindergartener!  I can not seem to keep them from growing up!!!  Anyway, both Maury and Carter had great first days.  Carter never looked back and Maury was a great big sister walking him in.  The bus now stops right at our front door and Caroline loves to wait for it!  They are going to have a great year at Bluff Park :)

Oh, and I got an email from Mrs. Fritschi right after lunch that did not surprise me one bit.....
And Maury's teacher sent this of her class on the first day :)

A Date With Daddy

We probably expect a little too much from the big sister at our house sometimes.  She helps out a lot with Carter and Caroline and sometime she deserves a break!  Owen took her out on a special date (although we can not call it that), she pick "chips-n-dip" and then a milkshake.  She was hesitant about going all day and then I realized it was because we were calling it a "date."  She said she didn't want to sit across from Daddy, just beside him and later told me she didn't want to go at first because she though she would be embarrassed (like if on a real date)!  Sweet Daddy even gave her some flowers!  They went, had a great time, and Carter and I are next!

Maury and Carter Meet the Teacher

On our last day of or week of fun we headed to Meet the Teacher at Bluff Park.  Although we already knew Mrs. Fritschi, Carter was thrilled to go in his class, see Mrs. Fritschi and all of the fun things in his new Kindergarten class.  Then we headed to the 1st grade hall to meet Mrs. Holden.  She was so sweet and Maury loved her class too!

Extra Special Week Before School

Caroline starting back early gave Maury and Carter an advantage!  They were able to pick fun activities for us to do with out a 2 year old!  Not that she isn't a ton of fun, but Caroline slows us down a bit :)  So, with baby sis in school we went to Splash Adventure, McWane, 1st Ave Rocks, the zoo, and we did fit a family trip (including Caroline) in to Railroad Park!  It was an awesome week!

Caroline's First Day of 2K

Caroline got to start back to school a week before Maury and Carter and although she was unsure of why she was the only one getting out at carpool she hopped right out and loved her first day!  When I asked her if she had fun she said she did and when I asked what she did she said "Anna Teal" (that's a friend in her class).  I can't believe what a big girl she is, I am positive she was still a baby on her last day of school in May!

Excited on the way!
Exhausted on the way home!

Class Lists

Carter and Maury were excited to find postcards from their teachers in the mailbox last Friday!  Carter got Mrs. Fritschi (who M had) and Maury got Mrs. Holden.  We headed to the school that afternoon to see class lists posted and have a snow cone!

Caroline Meets a Few Teachers

The day of Homewood Day School's Meet-the-Teacher I got a call from Caroline's teacher, Mrs. Mary Catherine.  She said she had a baby a few days ago and she would be back at school late September.  So we headed to HDS not knowing who we'd meet in Caroline's 2K classroom!  Miss Nancy and Miss Kay-Kay were there to fill us in on 2K happenings and told us they would be 2 of the subs.  Caroline loved her class and saw a few friends from last year, she wanted to stay and play :)

Fun With Migi and Papa C

Migi came to visit with Caroline and do some back-to-school shopping for the kids then she took Maury and Carter back to Brandon for a several days.  They hung on her and Papa C's legs when they brought them back, begging them to stay!  I think they had too much fun!  Caroline and I did a lot of things around the house, took a lot of walks, and played at her favorite place- the library, while they were gone.  She liked having Mommy and Daddy all to herself but asked a lot "where's Maury-Carter?"

Potty-training was also on my to-do list for the week but I changed my mind, neither she nor I are ready for the task!!!

Regions Field with VCC

Owen's company picnic was at Regions Field this year.  We had BBQ (Carter had lots) and watched a little baseball.  Migi was in town and Caroline wanted to stay home with her so we got to do a little more and stay out a little later :)

Back to the Beach

We headed back to the beach at the end of July for our highly anticipated trip with the cousins!  The kids played hard all day, every day, and danced the night away!  There were very few arguments and most slept well (minus the 2-year-olds).  It was a great week, sure wish we lived closer to our cousins!!!
