Last But Not Least

Our last big Holiday celebration was at Nana's house with all of the Weatherwax cousins! Now we are up to a dozen children in one house! We had a birthday party for Jesus, played lots of games, and books were read by the "big" cousins who became a little frustrated with the inattentive audience. I hope Nana took a long nap when we all left!

Jingle All the Way....

And the fun continued as we jingled all the way to Decatur after long Christmas Day naps. The Jacksons, The Wises, and the Great-Grans were all at Mimi and Gandy's house to eat and open more presents! It was a little chaotic trying to watch 6 kids 7 and under open presents. We're still not sure who gave who what but they had a ball! Thanks Mimi and Gandy!

Santa Came!!!

It was a close one for Maury but Santa did end up stopping by. Maury and Carter weren't sure what to expect as they walked downstairs Christmas morning. Maury lingered in the doorway a while and Carter ran past her straight to his train table! Santa could have only left a train table and they would have been just as happy I think! After seeing what Santa brought there were a few things under the tree from Mommy and Daddy and Maury and Carter got each other a gift. When we were trying to tear Carter away from his trains to open his present from Maury, Maury said "Come open this Carter, it's a firetruck!" Carter continued playing and ignoring us and after a few minutes I said "Carter come see what's in this present." Carter replied without looking up "It's a firetruck in there."

Maury is so blessed to have 3 girl cousins that pass wonderful hand-me-downs to her but there is one dress in particular I am growing just a little tired of. This year made Christmas #3 of the nativity dress and you can see by looking at the group picture that we will probably have a few more!

Christmas Eve

We stayed busy Christmas Eve preparing for Santa's arrival. Maury worked hard all day to improve her behavior so that Red the Elf would tell Santa to put her back on the nice list. We made beautiful cookies for Santa (Maury was sure he would like raisins on his iced sugar cookies), Carter ate his as usual. When Maury woke up from her nap she said "I'M BACK ON THE NICE LIST!" Later it was off to our Christmas Eve service at church. We let the kids open one gift under the tree from us when we got home.....sleeping bag sets! Maury slept in hers but turned her tap light on and off for about an hour before actually going to sleep!

Live Nativity

I think my favorite Christmas event may be the live nativity at our church. I love taking the kids, seeing their reactions and listening to the wonderful story. The kids were much more interested this year, Carter into the animals and Maury loved the angels on the roof (she would not get close to the animals)!!!

Christmas in Mississippi

Over the weekend we headed over the river and through the woods to Migi and Papa C's house but made our first stop at Aunt Ingrid's. We ate, visited with family, opened presents, and made it to Migi's a little after bedtime.

The fun continued on Sunday at Migi and Papa C's. Maury and Carter helped Migi make waffles and then later came MORE PRESENTS! They were so excited opening but wanted to play with each toy rather than keep opening! A few times Maury said "Hold this, I'm taking it to my house!" Thanks Migi, Papa C, Aunt Cameron, Uncle Lee, and Aunt Alex!!!

Christmassy Play Date

We had a few friends over last week to play, make some Christmas crafts, and have lunch. They worked hard on their crafts and played even harder which lead to 3 1/2 hour naps after all the fun!
