T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Now that Carter is mobile he is into everything and climbing on everything. His favorite is none other than the brick hearth! Under no circumstances can he be left unattended. I can already tell a big difference in boys and girls!

McWane Center

Davis, Maury, and Olivia trying hard to get as wet as possible:

Friday we met friends at the McWane center and had lots of fun! Even Carter was able to join in and do a little crawling around. The water table is always a favorite and all of the kids were soaked when we left despite the aprons!

We ♥ Hand-Me-Downs!

We are so lucky to have cousins (aunts really) that give great hand-me-downs! I don't have to buy Maury a thing because she is the fourth granddaughter on my side. We thought we'd be almost as fortunate with Carter because cousin John David is 11 months older......no such luck. Carter passed JD months ago in weight and is coming close in height! Aunt E-E does her best to help the big boy out. Last week she sent some options for C's 9 month pics (all of which JD still wears) and let us hang on to a few things like this sweet snowman outfit! And Maury is sporting one of Char's dresses! And yes, Carter did pull over the urn with the sticks in it right after I snapped the pic!

A Trip to the Park

We were thrilled for a couple of days of warmER weather so we headed to the park Friday. We met Olivia and her Mommy, had a picnic, and played until everyone was exhausted. Maury had a hard time dividing her time between the slide and the swing. Carter preferred the view from his stroller.....he HATES the swing! We've only attempted to swing a few times but he always has the same terrorizing reaction!

Yipeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

Carter finally got tubes today! It's been a long 2 months of chronic ear infections but hopefully that has all come to an end. Carter was a champ throughout the process and is resting well post-op! He had fun making laps in the little car while we waited. We are very thankful it is over and he did well and we are looking forward to an even happier baby boy! (I'm scary, I know, it was 5:45 am)

Bathtime Fun

Bathtime is an adventure at our house, as is most everything. But I will say I can usually count on sweet, happy babies in the tub along with a lot of splashing!

Water Baby

Pierce and Carter

Carter had his first Water Babies class this morning and LOVED it! He was a little hard to hang on to with all of the kicking and splashing he did. I knew he would love the pool because bathtime is definitely his favorite time of the day. He acted like he'd done it all before. He was already putting his face in the water!

Miss Independent

As we quickly approach the terrible two's Maury has become very independent and demanding at times. The phrase I hear coming out of her mouth most often is "NO MAMA!" (as seen in picture 1), not in a sweet voice and while pointing her finger at me. She loves to attempt to dress herself and got into Carter's drawer this morning!

9 Month (World Record) Stats

Carter had his 9 month check-up yesterday. Everything checked out perfectly except for his ears and we will get that taken care of soon! He weighed 27 lbs, 2 oz, was 31 inches long, and his head measured 19 inches. Needless to say, he was once again off the growth charts in all three categories. We are planning on starting a Water Babies class this weekend, hopefully he'll burn some calories in the pool!

The Big Boy Crawl

Carter was 9 months old yesterday! He has been really busy lately learning to eat table food which he loves (no surprise there)! He has also developed his own style of mobility. He can't quite get his big tummy off the ground so he has learned to work with what he's got! Don't under estimate the big boy, he's pretty fast!

Happy New Year!

Last night we bundled up and watched Daddy shoot fireworks in the driveway. When I say fireworks I mean sparklers and those things that pop when you throw them down(or when Maury stepped on them). Owen didn't want to buy any that would be dangerous. It was quite a show!

Grocery Shopping Made Easier

Earlier this week I took both kids to the grocery store. I haven't done this in a really long time thanks to MDO. I learned that with Publix's new carts and 2 cookies from the bakery shopping can be a pleasant experience as long as I make it quick. After about 15 minutes Maury was pushing and picking at Carter.
