Bowling is for Boys

Today we met Henry for bowling. Girly girl Maury was much more interested in her bowling shoes than the game. She took a few turns and then was happy to let Henry take over the game. Carter was pretty interested (he loves any kind of ball). I'm hoping this means he will be athletic.....a positive for a boy with his body type, but I'm not sure bowling will get him a college scholarship!

The Big Move

I'm finally getting around to blogging 12 days post move. We've got a ways to go before we are settled but we are working hard to get there!

We'll miss our first house, we were a little sad to leave it!

Our New Home!

After moving everything I think we NEED in we still have a garage full of stuff!!!! I have no clue where all of it came from or what to do with it!

Luckily the kids were away for 3 days of the process. Maury spent some time with Mimi and the Jackson's while Carter enjoyed a little trip to the Wise's! Thanks so much Aunt Amy and Aunt Leigh Ann!!!!! I know they had a blast. Maury got to go to the Botanical Gardens to see BUGZ and to a kiddie carnival! Carter was busy playing outside and sweating in Tupelo and he learned lots at his visit to Health Works. Aunt Leigh Ann was too busy chasing JD and Carter to snap any pics!

Play Party

Tonight we went to the Family Play Party at church complete with jump-o-lenes, bubbles, Popsicles, and trikes.... a toddler's paradise for sure! I spend most of my time chasing kids and not taking pictures but I snapped a few. Maury and Carter had tons of fun!

Carter LOVED the jump-o-lene!

Still Leading the Pack....

That's what Dr. Hamm told us at Carter's 15 month check-up today. Not that we had any concerns that Carter would have lost his spot at the top of the growth chart! He was 31 lbs, 4 oz, and 33 in tall. I'm thinking he has slimmed up a little since he's only gained about a pound in the past three months. As fast as he's moving these days the slimming trend should continue. He is into everything and saying new words everyday (mostly words Maury teaches him - the latest are "Mine", "Dora", and "Right Back"). We are so blessed and very thankful for a good report and a precious baby boy!

Happy 4th!

Yesterday was the first time in years that Owen and I have both been off for the 4th of July! We had a big day complete with a little park time, a little pool time, a cookout with the Patterson's, and a mini fireworks show! Since the kids go to bed before dark we had an early show with fireworks that did not leave the ground. So glad we didn't buy many.....they did not like the noisy ones at all and Maury was scared to go to bed when she heard more fireworks outside. She asked if she could sleep with me! Overall it was a fun day. Maybe they'll forget about the frightening fireworks by next year!

A Zoo Trip

Yesterday we met Brooke and Henry at the zoo. We started in the back this trip because we never make it that far and there were several animals we'd never met. The kids really liked the Hippo and the new Rhino exhibit (the rhino crate was far more fascinating than the animal). We took a train ride, had lunch, and then spent a little time in the foam zone and on the HOT splash pad. After screaming with burning feet we headed home and they fell asleep in the car! Maury continued her nap for 4 hours and Carter woke up at home and did not go back to sleep.....we are transitioning him to one nap a day today!!!
