Tree Time!

Silly faces before bedtime

More silly faces before church
Saturday we headed to pick out the perfect Christmas tree!  Maury and Carter were a little wild during the selection process so we quickly picked out the first one that caught our eye.  The kids woke up from naps to find that Red the Elf had arrived with surprises!  We decorated the tree and our broken ornament count is only at 1 so far this year!!!

Thanksgiving at Mimi and Gandy's

After the kids spent several days getting spoiled in Brandon with  Migi and Papa C we headed to Decatur for the remainder of the week.  Mimi had lots of activities planned for our Thanksgiving visit!  We had a weenie and marshmallow roast and movie/popcorn night, we made decorations for the Christmas tree and got to put them on, we made our leaves for the Thankful tree, we got to go to see Tangled and of course we ate a lot of turkey!  There's never a dull moment (or downtime, really) with the cousins!

ICE!

Before they turned into icicles....

Brrrrrr!

We traveled to Nashville the day before Thanksgiving with the Jackson girls to see Ice at Opryland!  Santa Claus is Coming to Town was the theme so we saw all things Santa-like made out of ice!  They told us it was 9 degrees in the exhibit before we went in and it was freezing for sure!!!  The highlight for the kids was the ice slide and my favorite was the nativity.  Carter thought the whole time we were at the North Pole.  He got a little to cold in the 9 degrees because his jacket didn't quite fit, he ran out of there saying "I don't wike that ice!"After Ice and lunch we went to the hotel for a train ride and to see all of the pretty lights and decorations.

Bulldogs at McWane

Since Owen went to Tuscaloosa for the UA/State game the kids and I made the most of the afternoon and went to the McWane Center.  Because everyone was home watching football we pretty much had the place to ourselves!

Henry is 4!!!

It's hard to believe our friend Henry is turning 4!!!  That means Maury's 4th birthday is right around the corner!  We helping celebrate by exerting lots of energy at IJump Friday night and the kids couldn't wait to head to Henry's on Saturday to play with his new toys!

Quiet Deer

Maury's class made Indian headdresses last week and she hopped in the car so proud to show me.  I'm guessing Mrs. Molly gave them all Indian names according to their personalities because Maury's says "Quiet Deer."  Maury quickly told me her slightly more outgoing BFF Sarah Elizabeth's name was "Chirping Bird."  If only "Quiet Deer" was a fitting name for Maury at home!

Mission of Thanks

On Veteran's Day we went to "Mission of Thanks" at church to make some crafts and a snack and then delivered our homemade goodies to some home bound church members.  Maury and Carter were thrilled to wear gloves for food handling and thought it was pretty great that they got to cut with a knife!  I'm not sure that they really understood the reasoning behind our mission but the made themselves at home when we visited!

Big News!!!

Maury and Carter are excited to announce that we are expecting baby number three in May!!!  When I took them to MDO this morning I told them I was going to the doctor to check on the baby and Maury quickly asked "Is the doctor going to take the baby out?"  It's so hard for them to understand the time frame and such a long wait to them!

Princess Wishes

Maury and I got to go see Disney's Princess Wishes on Ice this week with her sweet friends Lily and Olivia!  The girls were in awe of the princesses, the skating, and the snacks!  After the show I asked Maury which Princess was her favorite and she quickly replied "All of Them!!!"

Trick-Or-Treat

We had so much fun trick-or-treating this year!  After painting pumpkins, making candy jewelry, bouncing, and fishing for candy we headed out into Lily's neighborhood to fill our bags.  We had a hard time keeping up with all of our little spooks, they get faster each year!  Tinkerbell was flying pretty fast and Spiderman couldn't quite keep up (mostly because he was trying to eat his candy) so he skipped about every third house and sat in the stroller toward the end and worked on his loot!
