Maury's First Sleepover

When Maury got off the bus on Friday she immediately asked if she could spend the night with Sarah Elizabeth and I tried to change the subject, told her she had to be invited by SE's mom, etc.  She persisted asking if I had checked my phone to see if SE's mom had called.  And it wasn't long until she did call!  Maury was beside herself for her first sleepover (excluding cousins).  She quickly packed her bag and was in a hurry to get to SE's house.  We dropped her off, Miss Independent never looked back, and she kicked and screamed for an hour when we picked her up the next day.  I am so thankful she has a sweet friend with sweet parents that live right down the street!!!

Carter's 100th Day

Carter was a little resistant to transform in to an old man at first,  I really had to talk him into it.  But once he saw Pierce he was happy to play along.  I think he thought he was the only one doing it!  He came home talking about what all his friends had on, they had a big time!

Caroline's First Cut with Nina

Sometime in that first week back I took Caroline to see Miss Nina for a real hair cut!!!  She did great, she is such a big girl :)

January

January hit us hard at the Coulson house.  After getting the kids back into their routine with school I started Grad school the same day that Owen went out of town for a week.  I am amazed that I have any photographic evidence of that week!  We did escape to Decatur for a few days and got some much needed help from Mimi and Aunt Amy!!!

More Christmas Break Fun

We made the most of the last few days of Christmas break.  The Wise family visited, we went to McWane a few times, and Maury and Carter spent a few days with Mimi.  I did not do a good job of documenting any of this!!!

Surprise Trip to Atlanta!!!

Owen took some time off during the Christmas break so we decided to surprise the kids with a little overnight trip!  When they got up Friday morning we told them to get dressed and hop in the car!  We didn't tell them where we were going till we got to the hotel in downtown Atlanta.  We checked in and went straight to the Georgia Aquarium where we have never seen so many people!  It was crazy busy!!!  We managed to get in and out of there with all 3 kids, thankfully!  They loved it and were not phased by the crowd!  Next Caroline took a nap while Maury and Carter when for a swim.  Then we played in Centennial Olympic Park and went out for pizza (spaghetti for Carter)!  The next morning we headed to Imagine It Children's Museum after breakfast, the kids had a blast!  We dragged our exhausted crew to lunch (where Caroline fell asleep sitting up) before headed back to Birmingham.  It was a family fun filled trip we won't soon forget!!!

Whew, finally caught up!!!

Merry Christmas Morning!!!

Happy Birthday Jesus!!!
I think it may have been 7:20 before we were all up this year, a Christmas morning (late sleeping) record for our household!!!  Maury and Carter came down the stairs asking "Did he come???"  They ran in and were thrilled with everything they saw!  After an hour or two we had to test drive a bike, scooter, and cozy coupe in the church parking lot where the battery to Daddy's truck died!  After taking care of that problem we headed to VCC to check on things and then back home for more playing and family presents.  Christmas night we went to the Patterson's to check out what Santa brought and have a birthday party for Jesus.  We had a wonderful Christmas, so blessed!!!
